Iranian film ‘Motherless’ to premiere next month

Iranian feature film ‘Motherless’ is set to premiere in Iran next month, after participating in several international festivals.

‘Motherless’, Morteza Fatemi’s directorial debut, will be screened at movie theaters across the country starting from August 2.

“Marjan who aspires to be a mother, to make this wish come true, she meets Mahrouz, a woman who is trying to raise money for her son's kidney transplant,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The cast members of the film includes Amir Aqaee, Mitra Hajjar, Pejman Jamshidi, and Pardis Pour-Abedini.

‘Motherless’ grabbed awards at several festivals, including the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes) in India.

It also won an award at the Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) in Bangladesh.
